Shu Qi and Stephen Fung are not your regular couple. The pair got married in September 2016 and while most couples would be happily flooding social media with lovey-dovey photos of each other for at least a year or two after their wedding (you know who you are), not these showbiz A-listers.

If you remember, the super low-key pair had a super low-key, super-secret wedding in the Czech Republic where they had invited fewer than 20 guests. Heck, the bride even wore an old H&M dress for her wedding gown. And the dress and suit they wore for the bridal shoot? Bought just two days before the shoot “from a roadside stall”.

So it’s no surprise, to the disappointment of their fans, that their penchant for being under the radar would continue well into their married life. It’s also why every time Shu Qi posts a photo of the two of them together, it becomes news. Or at least a call-to-action for everyone to take a screenshot of the pic.

  Yesterday, the actress Instagrammed a selfie with Stephen looking busy playing with his handphone in the background. Her caption? “Have a great day (heart emoji). This time there’s no handsome guy to treat me to chocolate.”

  For those who don't follow Shu Qi on social media, her caption is a reference to an incident earlier this month when Shu Qi microblogged about how a handsome foreign guy sitting next to her had passed her a plate of chocolates to “enjoy”. “To not be wasteful is a virtue but my mum said I cannot eat things from strangers,” she continued.
  
  We’re not sure why Shu Qi brought up that encounter but we think she might be hinting to Stephen to stop playing with his handphone and to pay her some attention. I mean, wouldn’t you if you had Shu Qi sitting opposite you? Goes to show that all couples have the same issues no matter how famous or beautiful you both are.
